SITE DIRECTOR

Rinpoche was ordained in 1993 as a Ngakpa Lama by Very Venerable Karma Thinley Rinpoche IV and was given the title Ngak'chang, meaning "holder, wielder, and transmitter of mantric power". He is a Western Lama who, for more than half a century, has practiced and taught Lord Shakyamuni Buddha’s teachings.  He is from the Ngakpa order of Upasakas - male and female householder yogins - and is considered a meditation master in the Maha Ati (Dzogchen) and Mahamudra (Chagchen) Vajrayana meditation traditions. Rinpoche received a Ph.D. in Education and Philosophy from Claremont Graduate University. He has written two books on Buddhist practice and poetry and has created two Buddhist musical DVDs. One of Rinpoche's goals is to integrate Buddhist and Western pedagogy. He is dedicated to fulfilling Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar's vision for justice and social equality for the Dalit Community.

GLOBAL AMBEDKAR SOCIETY LIASON

Rama was born in a small Dalit Indian village and grew up watching everyone help one another. He watched his father giving back to others that had helped him from an early age, and realized part of his journey in life is to help the Dalit Community. His family came to the U.S.A in 1973 and became part of the American Dream. He is Founder & CEO of Elevated Life Solutions, a charitable mission to help families in need in the United States and around the world - providing underprivileged families, including children, often forgotten, with technology, education, training, protection and support to help families help themselves. He is a Buddhist student of Ngak'chang Karma Yeshe Namgyal Dorje Rinpoche.
